Welcome

We are located in South Orange County, California in a town called Aliso Viejo. We are blessed with lots of migratory birds and many permanent feathered residents. Our backyard chirps all day.

This particular hummer is an Anna’s Hummingbird. We believe this is her second nest in our backyard. She is about 3 inches long and is still getting used to us moving around the backyard.

She laid two eggs: one on May 30 and the second five days later on June 4th. Her nest is about 21/2 inches across and is located in a beautiful orange tree. I will take pictures of the setup and post them in a few hours.

Our Camera

Lots of people have asked about our camera setup. We are using an

Axis M1054 Network Camera that my neighbor lent me. He works for Axis and it is awesome. There are tons of options, such as saving a copy of the video to a network drive. I will start doing that as we get closer to the eggs hatching.

For this setup, I stream right out of the camera via RTSP to a streaming server on the Internet. Finally, I use a webpage to show the output of the streaming server.
